Cannabinoids
Cannabinoids are compounds in cannabis, such as THC or CBD, that can interact with cannabinoid receptors in the body's endocannabinoid system. These interactions can result in a range of subjective and therapeutic effects including euphoria, appetite stimulation and relief of symptoms such as pain.
Cannabinoids are not only found in cannabis, but are also produced naturally in the human body. The cannabinoids produced in our bodies are called endocannabinoids, but they behave differently to those found in cannabis - and therefore we do not feel the same effects from endocannabinoids as we do from cannabinoids in cannabis.
