Cannabinol is a non-toxic cannabinoid that is usually present in older cannabis and is known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. Cannabinol was the first cannabinoid discovered after THC and is molecularly similar to it, despite its different effects.
There are plenty of cannabis product manufacturers selling CBN-containing foods formulated as sleep aids, claiming that CBN has strong sedative effects. However, the findings of multiple studies contradict this claim, suggesting that CBN is not solely responsible for inducing sleep.
